You know what's happening with everyone in the room and none of it registers on your face. People experience you as composed and slightly unknowable, which you've mostly stopped trying to correct because correcting it would require the kind of exposure you avoid.
You read people fast and deep and you're right an uncomfortable amount of the time. It isn't mystical — you're aggregating hundreds of small signals below the level you can articulate, which is why the conclusion arrives whole and you can't show your work.
Because you can't explain it, you often don't say it, and then watch the thing you predicted arrive on schedule. That silence costs you twice: nobody gets the warning, and you get to feel alone with information you were holding the whole time.
The specific danger here is the door slam — years of unspoken observations accumulating quietly until someone crosses a line and you close permanently, without warning, from their point of view. There was warning. It just never left the building. Say one small thing early and the big irreversible thing stops being necessary.
