Nothing leaves your hands until you would defend every line of it

Who you are
You hold a high bar, you work things out in conversation, and you carry it yourself to the end. Whatever you put your name on is correct, and people have learned that if you signed off on something, they don't need to check it.
That reputation is worth a lot and it was earned slowly. On work where an error is expensive — anything client-facing, legal, financial, public — you are the reason nothing embarrassing has happened yet.
The bottleneck is also you. Because the standard lives in your head and the review happens through you personally, things queue behind your attention, and a week where you're busy is a week where several other people's work doesn't move. Nobody else can do the check, because the criteria were never written down.
Write down the three things you always look for. Now someone else can catch two of them.
You know it's you when…
- You caught something that would have been expensive
- Work sat in a queue because you had a busy week
- Someone stopped double-checking because you'd looked at it
