You're always there, you always respond, and you're not trying to run anything. Someone posts a screenshot, you have the take. Someone posts bad news, you're first with something warm. You're not the organizer — you're the reason the chat feels alive.
This is genuinely underrated labor. Groups die from silence, not conflict, and you're the one preventing the silence. The person who posts something into a chat and gets nothing back stops posting; you make sure that never happens.
The tricky part is that being constantly available means you rarely get the same in return. You're the response, so nobody thinks of you as the one who might need one.
Try posting something real about yourself and letting it sit. Notice who comes back. That's useful information about a group you've been carrying.
