The Shy Extrovert
Loves people. Just needs someone to go first.
Being around people you like is what fills your battery back up
You watch the room first and open up once you have a feel for it
You like people best in doses, with an exit time in the back of your mind
Who you are
People give you energy. A good hang leaves you buzzing, and too many nights alone make you restless. But you rarely make the first move. You wait to be invited, you hang back in new groups, and you'd rather join a conversation than start one.
That makes you easy to misread. People assume you want to be left alone, so they leave you alone, which is the exact opposite of what you want. Shy and introverted aren't the same thing. Shy is about the first step. Introverted is about what refills you.
Once you're in, you light up, usually in smaller doses that feel easy and warm. The fix is small: be the one who sends the first text sometimes. Most people are waiting for someone else to go first too.
You know it's you when…
- You were dying to go but didn't, because nobody asked you directly
- You stood near a conversation for a while, hoping someone would pull you in
- You felt lonely on a quiet weekend but didn't reach out to anyone
