The All-In
You don't do lukewarm and you never have.
You know early and you don't pretend otherwise
Feelings get spoken out loud, on purpose, often
You want the lives actually mixed together
Who you are
You fall fast, say so early, and want the whole thing — the friends, the family group chat, the shared calendar, the drawer. Restraint has never been your strategy, mostly because it never worked for you. When you're in, you're in, and everybody around you finds out in the first two weeks.
The upside is that nobody ever has to guess where they stand with you. There's no reading between lines, no waiting to be chosen. For the right person that's an enormous relief — you're the one relationship they don't have to decode.
The cost is that you hand over the whole thing before you know who you handed it to. Four months in you sometimes look up and realize you've built a life around a person you're still learning. Intensity feels like certainty and it isn't the same thing.
You don't need to become cooler. You need one extra beat between feeling it and building around it. Same heat, slightly later commitment, and you stop having to rebuild from scratch every couple of years.
You know it's you when…
- Your friends knew their name before the second date
- You've said "I love you" first every single time
- Two weeks in you're already picturing the holidays
