The Situationship
Yes. That's what this is. You already knew.
Nobody has defined it and both of you notice that daily
One of you is carrying most of the contact and it's you
Nothing exists on the calendar and nobody brings it up
Who you are
Undefined, unbalanced, and with nothing ahead of it. You took a quiz to confirm something you could have said out loud at the start, which is the most situationship thing possible. This is the textbook version.
It's worth being fair about it: this isn't automatically bad. Plenty of people want exactly this, for a season, on purpose. The problem is when only one person wants it, and the tell is which one of you is asking questions like this.
The reason it persists is that it costs the other person nothing. There's no pressure, no calendar, no definition to maintain — and things that cost nothing tend to continue indefinitely unless somebody makes them cost something.
Decide what you'd need for this to be worth it, then say that thing once. Not as a threat — as information. What happens next will tell you everything.
You know it's you when…
- You took a quiz to confirm something you already knew
- Nothing about this costs them anything and you can feel it
- There is no version of next month that includes the two of you
