The Clean Answer
One complete sentence, immediately, and then nothing more.
You answer while the notification is still on screen
You write the whole thing first, then send it once
Lowercase, no exclamation marks, meaning carried flat
Who you are
You reply fast, once, in a finished sentence, with no decoration. The question is answered. There is no follow-up, no emoji, no softening clause, and no second message. From your side the exchange is complete and you've moved on.
In any practical context this is the best texting style there is. Plans get made, questions get resolved, nothing drags. People who need something from you love texting you, because you close loops instead of opening them.
Socially it can end conversations that weren't finished. A clean answer is also a full stop, and the other person often reads it as permission to stop — so casual threads with you tend to be short, and some people conclude you'd rather not be texting.
When you actually want the conversation to continue, end with a question. It's the one signal your style doesn't send by itself.
You know it's you when…
- Your replies resolve the question and end the thread at once
- People come to you when they need an actual decision made
- Casual conversations with you tend to finish in two messages
