The Late Bloomer
Quiet for the first hour. Last to leave.
Quiet time is how your battery fills back up after a big day
You watch the room first and open up once you have a feel for it
Once you're out, you can go for hours without running low
Who you are
You take a while to warm up. The first hour of any event, you're scanning the room and staying close to someone you know. Then something clicks, you find your people, and suddenly it's 1 a.m. and you're deep in the best conversation of the night.
This makes you hard to read. People who only meet you early think you're shy. People who stay late think you're the life of the party. Both are true, and that mix is exactly what most people mean when they call someone an ambivert.
The catch is the bill that comes afterward. You still recharge alone, so a long night out usually costs you the next day. Knowing that is useful. Block the quiet morning before you go, and you get to enjoy both halves of yourself.
You know it's you when…
- You almost left early and ended up being one of the last people there
- Someone said they thought you were quiet, until they actually got to know you
- You spent the whole next day on the couch after a really great night out
