The Outgoing Introvert
Great at the party. Better in the car home.
Quiet time is how your battery fills back up after a big day
You jump in early and figure the room out by talking to it
You like people best in doses, with an exit time in the back of your mind
Who you are
You can work a room. You say hi first, you ask good questions, and people walk away thinking you're a natural extrovert. What they don't see is the timer running in the back of your head, or how quiet the car gets once you leave.
You're outgoing by skill and introverted by battery. You're good with people, you just pay for it in energy. A couple of hours of being on is great, and after that you need real time alone to become a person again.
That split confuses people, and sometimes it confuses you. It's not fake. The social version of you is real, it just runs on a smaller tank. Leave while you're still having fun and you'll keep wanting to come back.
You know it's you when…
- You were the most talkative person at dinner and silent the whole drive home
- Someone was shocked when you said you're actually an introvert
- You slipped out of a party without saying goodbye to anyone
