The Sword
You say the true thing. Then you do something about it.
Growth. Starting things and pushing upward.
Warmth. Being seen and lighting up a room.
Steadiness. Holding people and plans together.
Edge. Standards, decisions, cutting what's extra.
Depth. Reading the room and finding a way around.
Who you are
Yang Metal — 庚, gyeong — is raw iron: the sword, the axe, ore that hasn't been polished yet. It's the most direct of the ten. You see a problem and you cut straight to it, and you don't understand why other people want to discuss it for another forty minutes.
You have a strong sense of what's fair, and you act on it. If someone's being treated badly, you're the first to say something. You're also fiercely loyal — the kind of friend who takes it personally when someone crosses a person you care about.
Unpolished metal has edges. Your honesty can land harder than you meant it, and you'd rather cancel a plan than do it halfway. You're also competitive in a way you might not fully admit, even about things that don't matter.
The skill that sharpens you is timing. The true thing is still true tomorrow morning — and it usually lands better then.
You know it's you when…
- Someone was unfair to a friend and you said something on the spot
- You ended a forty-minute discussion with one sentence
- You got weirdly competitive about a board game again
