The Ocean
You can't be contained, and you get bored fast.
Growth. Starting things and pushing upward.
Warmth. Being seen and lighting up a room.
Steadiness. Holding people and plans together.
Edge. Standards, decisions, cutting what's extra.
Depth. Reading the room and finding a way around.
Who you are
Yang Water — 壬, im — is the ocean, the big river, water that's moving somewhere. You think in big pictures. While everyone else is arguing about the next step, you're already asking whether this is even the right problem.
You're curious, restless and good at adapting — water takes the shape of whatever it's in, and you can talk to almost anyone about almost anything. People find you exciting to be around, partly because they're never quite sure where you'll go next.
An ocean doesn't love walls. Routine bores you, being boxed in makes you restless, and you can drift from one big idea to the next before any of them is finished. There's also more going on under your surface than people see.
The practice is choosing a riverbed. Water with a direction carves canyons. Water without one just spreads out.
You know it's you when…
- You asked if this was the right problem and the whole meeting paused
- You got into a deep conversation with a total stranger, again
- You had four big plans this year and they're all a little bit started
