The Jewel
You know exactly what's good, and you won't settle.
Growth. Starting things and pushing upward.
Warmth. Being seen and lighting up a room.
Steadiness. Holding people and plans together.
Edge. Standards, decisions, cutting what's extra.
Depth. Reading the room and finding a way around.
Who you are
Yin Metal — 辛, sin — is the jewel: metal that's already been cut and polished. Where the sword is raw, you're refined. You have taste, standards and an eye for the one detail that's off, and it's a little frustrating to live with because you're usually right.
People trust your opinion on what's actually good — a restaurant, a résumé, an outfit, a plan. You hold yourself to the same standard, which is why your work looks finished when other people's looks almost done.
Jewels are hard, but they can chip. You're more sensitive to criticism than you let on, especially careless criticism, and you want to be valued for exactly what you are. Being overlooked bothers you more than being disliked.
Worth remembering: a jewel doesn't have to prove it's a jewel. The people worth keeping will see it without you polishing yourself for them.
You know it's you when…
- You noticed the one typo on a slide everyone else had approved
- Friends texted you before booking a restaurant, again
- A careless comment about your work stuck with you for a week
