Who you are
Your messages are brief, unpunctuated, and arrive whenever they arrive. There is no urgency in the timing and no temperature in the words, and both of those things are simply how you are — not a comment on the person you're talking to.
The upside is that you never perform interest you don't feel. What you do send is real, and people who've known you a long time learn to read the small signals correctly: that you replied at all is the message.
New people cannot read that. Slow plus flat is the exact combination that reads as fading out, and the ones who like you often mirror it to protect themselves — which means both of you go quiet while both of you are still interested.
Say the thing out loud once, early. I'm slow over text, it doesn't mean anything. One sentence prevents an entire category of misunderstanding.
