You recharge alone and you don't apologize for it
You trust what's actually in front of you
You decide on the logic and tell people afterward
Decided feels better than open, almost always
What you feel rarely makes it to your face
Who you are
You're steady and you're unreadable, and the two are related. Feelings are private business that don't belong in a work conversation, so nothing surfaces — and people who've worked beside you for three years still couldn't say what you think of them.
You do what you said you'd do, on the day you said you'd do it, and you have never understood why this is considered remarkable. It's the whole basis of how people treat you: nothing you commit to has ever needed a follow-up, and everyone around you has quietly built on that.
You trust what's worked. Precedent isn't a limitation to you, it's evidence, and you've watched enough clever new approaches collapse to feel fine about that. The blind spot is that some of what you're defending is precedent nobody has questioned in years, including you.
That combination gets read as disapproval by default, especially by anyone junior. You've almost certainly had people conclude you didn't rate them when you thought they were doing well. One sentence a month, said out loud, corrects a misreading that costs you nothing to fix.
